A note from Aiijuin:
Nearly 15 years before I had even started the concept of writing for SGRE, I had been writing mini fanfictions based on my –then- favorite Anime at the time: "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon"
While I was teaching ESL in Japan back in 1997, I had watched the entire series on VHS – and to this day I still own all Naoko Takeuchi's manga's imported straight from Utsunomiya, Japan. I had become interested in Sailor Moon several years before, when it had come to the states through Bandai Entertainment. The names of the characters where all changed and I had already started fanfictions based on the series using the Americanized names. (Internet was not that popular then, and Google was nonexistent, or perhaps just a baby.)

Anyway – once I was exposed to the Japanese Sailor Moon, I became privy to just how intricate and unique Naoko's story actually was – right down to the character names which tell a lot about them, based on their double-meaning names. I had to shift my fan fiction stories around significantly without starting over again – and so, one year later – I created the "3029 A.D." story arc for Sailor Moon, based on the Sailor Moon R series with the Dark Moon Empire. This is the Anime arc where Chibi Usa (Rini) travels back to the past to try to find the Silver Crystal (Ginzuishou)…

It was stated in a flashback, that Neo Queen Serenity had restored the earth back to its original state after it had been frozen for nearly 1000 years. If we approximated when Usagi grew up, and then added 1000 years – I figured that would put us relatively into the 31st century on Earth. This is where my story, "3029 A.D." begins. "3029 A.D." is about Usagi's struggle of the reformation of 'Cursed' Earth and how she transforms it into the futuristic Moon Kingdom, Crystal Tokyo. Eventually, she becomes Neo Queen Serenity, but before she can claim that title – there are perils and heartbreaks that she must overcome in the process.

Pictured: Mirai Usagi (Future Usagi aka Sarena) standing in the arms of Chiba Mamoru (Darien), Mizuno Ami (Amy), Hino Rei (Raye), and Tsukino Usagi (Sarena) with Luna lurking behind.

This story takes place in the past where Nefflite, a minion of Queen Beryl continues to rob energy from the humans to be given over to Queen Metallia (The overlord that Beryl serves). Kino Makoto (Lita), Aino Minako (Mina), and Artemis have NOT entered the story at this time, and Rei is 'dating' Mamoru. Needless to say, this is why Rei is fuming in the background. Mamoru still refers to Usagi as "Odango Atama' ("Meatball Head', but the actual definition is "Dumpling Head') and neither Usagi - nor Mamoru are close acquaintances at this time. Future Usagi awakens naked in the bushes of present day Tokyo without any memory of how she came to be there. Mamoru passing takes notice of the rusting bushes …. and the rest will be made into a short doujinshi (fan comic) in the near future by me…but not today.

"Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" was written and created by Takeuchi Naoko, Toei Animation owns the animated "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon"
Dedicated to my two personal moon friends: Dee-Chan & Kelly - who were both tormented for 5 years by the craziest Sailor Moon Otaku.
