Old School Link SS Style

Description

When I draw my Legend of Zelda: Restoration comics, this is ACTUALLY how I physically picture Old School Link, based on what I've written so far.

I know that within my comic, he has been originally been drawn in the likeness of the 1989 DiC animation style at first.  However that was to initially continue a story in the same art style.  I'll be honest here:

NO! No, I do NOT like the DiC animation style, nor do I fancy OS Link's design in the Valiant Comic "Legend of Zelda" either.

However, I figure I'd give a more accurate depiction as to how OS Link actually appears if placed into the Skyward Sword Universe.  While I'm at it, I figured that I'd also give some additional background information, which are all actually a part of my comic/story.

I've done the redesign here, because I'm kind of sick of people labelling Brunette Link as the 'Ugly Link.'  He's totally not ugly, only blandly portrayed in the world of cheap animation and crappy comic character design.  PS: The crappy comic design of Link was continued in the CD-I versions of the game as well, but since Nintendo has long disavowed those games, then so do I.

IMO, the DiC Animation was no looker.   And I shall interpret poor and cheap 80s artstyle into a modern day style of how the character of Link would have probably been presented to the audiences of the 21st century .  I believe better design and more financial support would have resulted in this (see picture above) in the end.
Also, I DO NOT believe that two people as adorable as Skyward Link & Skyward Zelda would have ended up with a fugly kid conclusively - just blame his bland design on cheap animation.

Finally, as to the brunette hair issue - well, hair is a funny thing.  Both my youngest brother and his wife have dark brown/nearly black hair - and yet they have a fair golden-haired daughter.  My mom and dad were both darker brunettes and I was born a bright redhead and my middle brother was born a blonde.  While eye genetics stay pretty true to the parents, hair genetics seem to be much trickier in reality. <--- That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
